Quality Property Loss Adjustment

Quality property loss adjustment is a finely honed skill that requires experience, training, interpersonal skills and above all integrity. Knowing how to interact with the insured, especially when the situation may not be in their favor, in a pleasant way can be challenging. Dealt with improperly this can lead to an adverse view of the field adjuster, desk adjuster and the insurance company as a whole.

We take pride in our interpersonal skills and do our best to make the claims experience pleasant even in the worst of situations. Many insured's tend to view adjusters in a negative light, assuming they are only out there to save the insurance company some money. We have yet to do work for a company that views claims solely in this manner. We are working at changing that incorrect preconception one claim at a time.

On occasion we end up with a non covered loss, such as ground water infiltrating the insured's basement. We always try to make suggestions to the insured on how to prevent this from occurring in the future by recommending improvements to the landscaping, gutter downspout placement and anything else that would improve the situation. This is usually well received and helps offset the sting of this type of situation.

Loss Investigation

Often we are in a situation where all that is known going in is that there is some sort of resulting damage. The insured may have no clue as to the cause.  It can take quite a bit of detective work and investigation to ascertain the reason for the damage.

Correct loss assessment is critical as coverage for the resulting damage hinges on what caused it. We have learned adept ways to ascertain the cause of the damage through experience, common sense and logic. We also have engineers and experts at our disposal who can quantify this on a higher level if required.
